IPL - Individual Premier League

Individual Premier League

(formerly our In House League)

Due to confusion in what this league is and who is serves we felt we needed a new name to accurately depict this playing opportunity. This is more than an In House League, this league is open to all players aged U10-U19 for Boys and Girls.

Please see all the details below on the times for each age group and the format of play.

Overview

The IPL will allow the players to explore the game of soccer on their own developing cooperative skills, communication skills, decision making, leadership, and ownership. The skills needed to get maximum points are about making sure teams are well rounded in their play. To win a game, as a team, you need to be able to defend, be organized, play as a team, score goals, transition, and have game management skills. The league naturally places more emphasis on the little details that it takes to win games.

Format:

Players will sign up as individuals.  The league will keep track of individual points (6 pts for a win, 1 pt per goal scored up to 3, 1 pt for shutout, and 3 pts for a tie). There will be 2 games per week, each game will be 23 minutes (running clock).  Each game will be 5 v 5 and regular FIFA rules apply. Before each game, the teams will be randomly picked. The result of the game will be recorded for everyone according to the team point total. Each player on that team will get those points for their own overall score. Then we will randomly mix teams again, following the same point system for each game played. Staff will record and monitor the results. The top 5 players in running totals for points will be announced weekly during session. All players will have an opportunity to see their total number of points on a weekly basis.
